Project 5 - Harmony and Discord
In this project, I wanted to demonstrate feelings of warmness, comfort and soothingness sharply contrasting feelings of pain, danger and uneasiness through color and the delicate nature of a rose. I choose warm, inviting, cheerful colors such as pink and yellow to create harmony in the first painting and then created discord by use of dark and subdued colors with a splash of vibrant red for an alarming element. The rose is to symbolize a delicate nature with vulnerability. It's subject to its environment and the seasons which can destroy and force it to wither away. A rose's only defense is its thorns that are illustrated in the discord piece but they're absent in the painting displaying harmony. A rose can be beautiful and inviting until you are pricked by its thorns and the flower's innocence vanishes.

Project 4 - Digital Animation
I had to render this video instead of saving it as a gif because my laptop top wouldn't allow me. Because of this, the video cut out about two thirds of all my frames making it look much less fluid and more choppy.

Munsell Quote
"In a two or three-demenisonal design, when cool colors are placed next to or surrounding warm colors, the warm hues appear to be closer to the viewer whereas the cool hues appear further away."
I found it interesting that certain colors (warm) appear closer to the eye when surrounded by cool colors. It wasn't something that i had necessarily paid attention to before until reading this, then it was when I realized why warm are so prominent.

Project 1: Abstract Painting
The color I choose for my abstract painting is magenta. As a warm primary color, like red, it naturally stands out more than other colors, immediately grabbing your attention. Because of this, when it is surrounded by cool colors, it is the most prominent. When white is added, soft, delicate tints of white develop and when black is added, it creates deep shades of purple.
